Located just outside of the Village of Bellaire, the successful protection of this land coupled with an exciting trail system developed by experts from Michigan Mountain Biking Association (MMBA) has created one of the most sought after riding and trail running experiences in Michigan.

Bellaire is home to 4-season beauty perfect to explore. Check out some of the area trails.
Grass River Natural Area is a 1,492 acre nature preserve surrounding the Grass River, located in the heart of Antrim County. Along with the beautiful views of Grass River, we also offer seven miles of well-maintained trails including 1.5 miles of boardwalk floating above northern fen and cedar wetlands. With all of these natural features, Grass River Natural Area offers visitors an outdoor, living laboratory to explore and learn. The Grass River Center is open year-round, offering a comfortable learning environment for public programming, school field trips, camps, and more.

The village of Bellaire offers extensive shopping including souvenirs, jewelry, clothing, and treasure filled antique shops. Downtown Bellaire is a great place to start your shopping extravaganza.
Bellaire’s downtown shops stretch across a walkable 2 block section of town and include eclectic gift shops, garden centers, antiques and even a full two screen movie theater. Of course there are plenty of snacks or dining available during your downtown Bellaire shopping excursion.
The nearby villages of Alden, Central Lake and Mancelona offer additional shopping experiences.

Bellaire gives visitors prime access to the Chain of Lakes in the surrounding area. This extensive, 55-mile water system is made up of fourteen interconnected and picturesque rivers and lakes throughout the region. Due to its abundance of well-developed access points and communities along the water, the Chain of Lakes was recently designated as one of eight official water trails by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources. The Bellaire area includes Intermediate Lake, Lake Bellaire, Clam Lake and Torch Lake – the second-largest inland lake in Michigan.
If you don’t have a kayak or canoe of your own, Paddles & Pedals has all the equipment you need with rentals that include kayaks, stand up paddleboards, canoes, mountain bikes, fat tire bikes and more. You can rent equipment by the hour, day or week to make the most of each moment of your trip. If you haven't already, maybe it's time to give fat tire biking on snow a try? Our 3km multipurpose trail at Schuss Village is packed for fat tire biking, snowshoeing, or even walking your dog.
